House Beautiful magazine is celebrating 120 years! Wow, that’s impressive!!
They’ve listed 120 iconic decorative things that they’ve been profiling since 1896 that make interior design great. How many of these 120 things do you have for great décor?
Chances are you will find at least one or more items that you already have on every page, as we did.
#6 – We mix textures with patterned designs for a pattern-on-pattern effect. Many of our designs can color coordinate and can be mixed and matched.
#16 – Accessories look great paired with our Zebrawood and other wallcovering finishes.
with #22 – We also pair and showcase our Chinoiserie Panels in our Scenoiserie Collection.
#32 – We like folding screens, especially when they can be “multi-decorational.” This screen below has Libby Langdon’s Groovy Gate design on one side and our Faux Tortoiseshell on the other. It serves as a quick-change, multi-functional design piece.
#37 – We love peonies in the Ann Alger Collection and the Botanical Collection.
#45 – We not only have Faux Glass Mosaic Tiles but also MoRockAnSoul tile designs inspired from Marrakesh.
#56 – Casart wallcovering can be used as “slipcovers for your walls” and treated seasonally.
#63 – We also like to think that all our wallcoverings are conversation starters.
#67 – We have Chinoiserie and Japan in our Scenoiserie Collection with other designs on the way.
#65 – Stripes! Did we mention we love them too?
#69 – We love painted furniture but know it’s a lot of work. Why paint when you can simply cover with any of our repositonable wallpaper, like this custom Faux Tortoiseshell cabinet? No mess, no glue. It’s an instant transformation!
#75 – We’re happy to announce our new sparkly Casart Lustre metallic, repositionable wallcovering.
#85 – Botanical prints, we’ve got them!
#93 – Treillage is a fancy French word for latticework. We have Lattice in 3 versions and multiple colorways. This wallcovering adds an architectural component as well as visual pattern.
The Groovy Gate design is another trellis-type pattern that can be used not only to give a room interest but on screens, bookcase backings and furniture.
#87 – We love Faux Tortoiseshell and have offered it in custom + two versions and many colors.
#96 – Although we don’t have Grasscloth — yet — we have a very close and even more sophisticated equivalent, faux Raw Silk, which looks like upholstered panels.
Our Raw Silk is also the background design for all our Chinoiserie and Asia Blossom panels.
#105 – We have Splatter that you can “wear” on your walls.
#120 – Finally, but not finitely, we like a sense of levity, especially when kids are around, but also for adults. Among many of our designs, our Flower Power and Peacock Damask fit this aspect.
Even our Contour Line colorways, found in the Japan and Chinoiserie, Flower Power and Alice in Wonderland designs, can provide the child-like pleasure for adults to color on their walls with our large-scale coloring book “page”/ wallcovering.
We all can use some laughter and conversation with levity helps.
Coloring also helps to reduce stress. Post-election, give it a try.
Look in your own rooms. Can you identify which of these 120 iconic items you have that have made your interior space wonderful!
If you find you are lacking or want more, now you know where to go — to Casart Coverings..
