Throughout our site you’ll notice Casart icons (seen below) on our product pages. Each icon represents a different type of covering. Clicking on them will bring you to our descriptions below.
Most all of our wallpaper shop designs have wallpaper samples, so you can test before you buy a large roll.
Casart ® premium peel and stick wallpaper samples are reimbursable with a future order of $50 or more.
Our printing uses the latest UV print technology that is substantially greener than solvent, with no VOC’s, true color and rich, vivid impact. This state-of-the-art print technology allows us to also print white ink. UV curable inks contain no hazardous materials that instantly harden when exposed to UV light but remain flexible when installing peel and stick wallpaper.
While printed at high speeds our printing requires lower energy than other print technologies to cure and inks do not re-solubulize (dissolve or rub off) after curing. Our digital printing technology gives a very durable surface and consistent color to our wallcovering.
Inks are free of antifungal or antimicrobial additives and heavy metals, perfect for a nursery, hospital, elder care and other sensitive as well as standard interior environments.
There is no need to worry or second-guess the environmental advantage of using this print technology as well as our materials. Our wallcovering is not mass produced, so there is less environmental impact to custom print only what is ordered. The reason we take these measures is to do our small part in making a difference.
Our wallcoverings are reusable and recyclable but dependent on individual state and local city procedures.
Icons & Our different types of wallcovering
We currently have two main types of wallcoverings: Casart Regular, Casart Light premium peel and stick wallpaper.
Casart Regular – highest standard repositionable, removable and reusable, premium peel and stick wallcovering available. Exceeds codes for residential and commercial use. Class A, with Type II quality (18 ml / 20 oz), mildew/stain, moisture-resistant and fire-retardant, color fast, washable vinyl material for medium to heavy duty use (walls, stair well, stair risers, kitchens and bathrooms among many smooth surface applications). It has a slight texture to mimic a wall surface with limited flash back reflection. Inks appear vibrant with slight sheen & durability to reposition, remove and reuse more than 50 times.
Casart Light – a 100% polyester fabric that is lightweight version of our Casart Regular with a smoother finish. It is Class A, with Type I commercial quality for light duty use and wipeable. Perfect for ceilings as well as walls and smooth surfaces. Repositionable, removable and may be reused (6 ml / 7 oz). Matte with smooth surface. Prints crisp, vivid images on a high-white point background. Not as durable as Casart Regular but is reusable in most cases.
Casart Clear – transparent repositionable, removable, premium peel and stick wall film. Perfect for Faux Glass Mosaic Tiles installed on mirror and glass (removable) as well as more permanently on wall surfaces where you want some background paint or substrate surface to be visible underneath. High- gloss, “optimally clear” and smooth surface (4 ml / 5 oz).
Casart Lustre – (in development) a sophisticated, soft-brushed metallic, wallcovering that has the look of a luxurious fabric but all the practical benefits of a durable 11 ml / 13 oz, heavy-duty, commercial-grade vinyl for your designer, commercial and residential projects. More for a traditional, permanent wallcovering application.
We show this silver, stainless-steel-effect wallcovering on the Asia Blossom product page in the thumbnails. We’ve found that our customers are looking for distinct coverings for their individual needs, so please inquire for more details.
All four Casart wallcoverings have different thicknesses and are suitable if you’re looking for a quick fix or a high-end, designer finish using a quality, premium peel and stick wallpaper.
Each sample is reimbursable with a future purchase of $50 or more.
We suggest samples may be the best way for you to test Casart wallcovering and see which type and design you like best.
We also suggest that after ordering a sample, you consider placing your larger order soon after. This is because our print profiles change occasionally when our machines are updated. Similar to fabric runs, each print is not exactly the same when printed on different occasions, especially if profiles or print machines update.
If you are uncertain about which Casart Regular or Casart Light material you want a design printed on, here’s a quick visual difference between the two with the differences described above in mind.
About Color & Sizes & Accessories
About Color due to variances among individual color monitor calibrations, the colors that appear on your screen may not be exact to the standardized colors used for printing. If a more precise color match than you see on the screen is important to you, please request samples prior to ordering.
Our wallcoverings are custom printed upon ordering and all sales are final. See below for more details about color and details on our Custom wallcovering page.
In addition we have a Casart Decor Shop with accessories that coordinate with many of our designs as well as a limited number of coordinating, all-weather (indoor – outdoor) Casart Décor pillow slipcovers for your consideration.
Our Standard Sizes are the following but certain designs and artwork have different sizes:
- Sample (Single Design or Sample Composite with multiple colorways of same design) — 8 in x 10 in
- Bookcase Backing — 52 in w x 4 ft h (18 sf)
- Small Roll — 52 in w x 8 ft h (35 sf)
- Medium Roll — 52 in w x 10 ft h (44 sf)
You can easily cut Stair Riser and Border sizes from our larger rolls.
Add your dimensions into our Calculator to determine how much wallcovering you might need.
Will Casart Removeable Wallcovering damage my walls?
Casart self-adhesive wallcoverings use a water-based, pressure sensitive, self-adhesive (PSA), similar to what you find on Post It® notes, but more aggressive to ensure strength, durability, and reuse. The PSA will not leave a residue upon removal. However, proper wall preparation is essential. We recommend eggshell, satin or higher sheen (gloss or semigloss) to ensure loose or degraded paint or substrate is not lifted off by the PSA. If the wall has been freshly painted, allow at least one week for it to “cure” prior to installation.
If you are concerned about the finish of your walls not being suitable, or want to maintain a painted design for later, instead of repainting, you can roll on a clear coat of matte or higher sheen water-based, polycrylic. This creates a protective barrier with higher sheen than eggshell for easy removal.
Casart wallcovering is premium peel and stick. It can be used in the bathroom but is best suited for use in low-humidity and well-ventilated conditions and should not be applied over any visible mold or mildew. The wallcoverings will not fall off your wall due to change in temperature.
Go to our About Wallcovering page, click on the caterpillar (specs) and butterfly (installation) for further details.
Is there a minimum order size?
There is no minimum order size on our four standard size offerings, but when placing a small square footage order, such as for samples or certain custom requests, we may have to delay printing briefly until we amass sufficient square footage to cover our labor and print costs.
How will my order be shipped?
In the US, samples are shipped via USPS. Their $11 and $12 price includes a $2 shipping cost.
Larger items and rolls are shipped via Fedex. Their ship cost is dependent on the size and weight (item quantity) of the 66″ x 6″ x 6″ package and the destination to where it is being sent. This cost typically ranges from $15 – $75. Fedex charges a $10 surcharge for Home Delivery. Fedex Express Saver and 2Day shipping adds $55 – $62 in cost and is dependent on Fedex’ fees, which change with price of gas fluctuation during inflation and quantity of drivers during labor and supply issues. We suggest doubling Fedex standard prices in these scenarios.
International orders are shipped via DHL through our lowest rate carrier. Shipping costs vary as above for all items, and usually start at $45. DHL rates entail a VAT tax that the customer pays upon receipt. This cost is based on the value of the items shipped.
How long will it take for my order to arrive?
Except for some samples, we do not carry stock items. All orders are custom printed upon ordering/ demand (POD).
Some samples may be backordered. For these and any item larger than a sample, please allow up to a 2 week, (14 business day) turnaround. This includes five business days for the order to be printed and typically 3 – 5 business days to arrive once mailed. Depending on when the order is placed, for example on a Friday, the print will go into queue and the process will begin on Monday.
Once your order arrives, you have three days to inspect the materials. If we do not hear from you after this time, we can only assume everything is alright with your order and any potential changes or additions that might need to be made will be considered a separate purchase.
Casart ® is printed on what type of premium peel and stick material?
Our designs can be printed on three main different types of repositionable wallcovering described by the icons above.
Casart Regular is highest-quality, durable and thick, 20 oz and 18ml (with backing sheet), Class A, slightly textured, canvas-like, 3-ply vinyl with fabric support material that is mildew/stain resistant, fire-retardant as with Type II quality.
Casart Light is smoother and lighter weight, 7 oz, 6 ml, polyester fabric with a repositionable, water-based, self-adhesive backing that allows for quick and easy installation, removal, storage, and reuse. It can be used on walls, multiple surfaces as well as ceilings.
Some designs like our Faux Glass Mosaic Tile can be printed on Casart Clear, a clear 4 ml, 5 oz, repositionable film. Designs can print differently on each material.
Casart Lustre is a silver metallic with a brushed, stainless-steel look. It is in development and is a traditionally applied wallcovering (about 11 ml / 13 oz) that looks like a soft, luxurious fabric but is heavy-duty vinyl for permanent use.
It is best to order a sample or samples first to test color, feel and overall appearance.
What surfaces are suitable for peel and stick wallpaper installation and removal?
Suitable surfaces are pre-painted, interior walls, cabinets or doors with an eggshell or higher finish (preferably in latex).
Note our premium peel and stick wallpaper (Casart Regular & Casart Light) have been tested on smooth finished surfaces, as well as ceilings (Casart Light), and in bathrooms, without harming the surfaces.
Casart wallcoverings have been used in bathrooms but the product is best suited for long term use in low humidity conditions and should not be applied over any visible mold or mildew, or peeling paint or untreated wallboard.
The adhesion is guaranteed up to one year, provided proper methods are taken to prep the wall surface before installation.
Product may also be adhered to glass and other smooth surfaces.
If your wall is newly painted, wait a week before installing. The walls should be clean, dry and free of dust. Do not use cleansers as they may affect adhesion.
Is my Casart scratch resistant?
No, but our UV inks are stable and durable and made to last. They do not scratch when wiped with a soft damp cloth or sponge. They should not be scrubbed, as no ink will resist this abrasion.
If extra protection is desired, especially for “high trafficked” areas, like a backsplash or in a bathroom, a clear, polycrylic, protective laminate (e.g. Miniwax brand) in matte, satin or gloss sheen can be rolled on with a foam roller. This can be purchased from any hardware store to apply.
Can it be cleaned?
Casart wallcovering may be cleaned with a mild damp cloth or soft sponge using soap and water.
It is not necessary, but for extra protection, a liquid laminate topcoat may be applied with a foam roller once installed. A protective laminate is clear and water-based, does not yellow or crack, and has a non-drip consistency. This can also be used to make some designs like Faux Glass Mosaic Tile, particularly as a kitchen backsplash appear high gloss. Most hardware stores carry a version in different sheens (e.g Minwax brand polycrylic).
How long will my Casart adhere to the surface?
Casart removable wallpaper adheres to a smooth surface as long as you want. However, this depends on the surface preparation and how often it is removed and reused. FYI: Our installed Casart in our own homes is long-lasting over 13 years. These have been removed and reused multiple times with no problem.
Will the surface be damaged when I remove my Casart?
No, providing the surface was properly prepared before installation.
Try this test, if your walls can withstand the packaging tape test then they are OK but the PSA (pressure sensitive adhesive) will uplift any areas where paint is unstable — peeling or bubbling and not properly prepped + the finish should be eggshell for short term or higher, satin or semigloss, for long term use.
We do not recommend installing over flat paint, particularly if on drywall or over existing wallpaper. Don’t fret if you have this situation, we have a solution! If you cannot paint the wall, a clear, polycrylic laminate in matte – gloss sheen can be rolled on. This does not change the underlying paint color, but simply adds a clear protective layer. (Minwax and other hardware store brands are good.) Wait at least 24 hours or longer and then install your Casart wallcovering.
How do I store my Casart for reuse?
Save the peel-away backing in order to store your Casart premium peel and stick wallpaper.
Once removed and repositioned on corresponding backing sheet, you can reverse re-roll the removable Casart wallcovering onto itself on top of the shiny side of the backing sheet, while you roll the covering down and off the wall.
Store Casart wallcovering in the original packaging for future use onto another wall, cabinet fronts, doors, tables, trays, glass, mirror, etc..
View our video link on the About Wallcovering page for how to reuse by reverse-rolling the backing sheet and rolling the wallcovering onto it as you roll it down the wall.
Will a residue be left on the surface after removal?
There will be no residue left behind on the surface.
Is this a do-it-yourself project?
Yes, but with a 52″ wide Casart peel and stick wallpaper panel, it may be helpful to have another person to assist in positioning, although you can reposition until satisfactory position is achieved.
If you don’t feel comfortable peeling the backing sheet, positioning on the wall and pressing to the surface yourself, then please contact us so we can refer you to a wallpaper installer in your area. We want to make it as easy and convenient for you to install as possible. View our About Wallcovering page for a quick installation video to see how easy it really is!
Are special tools needed?
No specialized tools like a squeegee or smoothing device are needed.
You will need scissors for cutting.
It will also be helpful to have: vacuum and wet rag to clean the surface, pencil and straight edge to draw your cut mark.
You may need a step ladder to place the wallcovering at the top of a wall.
Having and a friend help hold the 52″ wide roll while you position makes it even easier and fun for someone else to see the immediate transformation that just one roll makes.
See additional specs and installation information below and on our About Wallcovering page.
Do you provide instructions?
Yes, instructions for installation are located on the About Wallcovering page on our website. Click the caterpillar for our specs and the butterfly for our installation. Both can be downloaded.
What is your ePolicy?
A $30 discount will be applied to your next order (of $200 or more) upon receiving a video of your purchased Casart being installed (does not apply to samples). Customers will receive a $20 off coupon for emailing us your before and after Casart installation pictures.
How do I measure to determine the amount I need to order?
You will need to find the square footage of your wall space.
Measure the height of your wall. Measure the length of the wall to be covered. Multiply these two numbers to get the square feet (sf) of your wall. Each Casart wallcovering has the square foot measurement listed to determine which size bests fits your needs. Please refer to our wallcovering specs pdf for additional measuring details.
How do I measure if my Casart has a pattern?
If the design you are choosing contains a pattern, then add the repeat measurement height to the total maximum height and the repeat pattern width to the total maximum width figure, for extra flexibility in the positioning while installing.
In most cases the repeat height measurement is found for each pattern design on its product page. Click the detail thumbnail at the bottom of the design view box. Click the magnifying lens to view in a larger window.
Calculate the square footage of each wall based on this total maximum height multiplied by the maximum width measurements in feet. Continue to figure out each wall space square footage by this method and add each one together. This is the total square footage needed. Please refer to our wallcovering specs pdf by clicking on the caterpillar and butterfly (installation instructions) on our About Wallcovering page for additional pattern repeat information.
With over 100 different designs and over 6,000 variations, we have many art wallcoverings and murals that do not have a pattern.
All Casart wallcovering is professional artist designed with original hand-painted designs & finishes without onsite labor.
Our standard offerings can be customized to paint color and size requirements. The wallcoverings are further customizeable by using acrylic paint, markers, crayons and stamps. We have colorways in single-color, contour outline for this purpose.
Do you allow changes to an order?
If you believe you made an error in your order, please call us within 24 hours and we will try to accommodate you, but once an order had been processed and in our print queue, we cannot change it.
In addition, as of October 11, 2019, Paypal has amended its Refund Policy. They charge 2.99% commission of the purchase price + a $0.30 fixed fee. If a refund is granted (prior to printing), these Paypal charges will not be returned to the merchant and therefore will not be refunded to the customer. Please be sure of your order before purchasing. If you have any questions, it is imperative that you contact us first so we can help you BEFORE your order is processed.
Once your order arrives, we have a three-day review process. If we do not hear from you within three days, we can only assume that everything is fine with your order and any changes and or additions will be a separate purchase.
Can I return an order that didn’t work the way I expected?
All sales are final upon order.
However, please inspect your purchase upon arrival. We have a three-day review process. If we do not hear from you within three days, we can only assume that everything is fine with your order and any changes and or additions will be a separate purchase.
If for some reason there is a print error with your order, please know that as of October 11, 2019, Paypal has amended its Refund Policy. They charge 2.99% commission of the purchase price + a $0.30 fixed fee. If a refund is granted, these Paypal charges will not be returned to the merchant and therefore will not be refunded to the customer.
Can I order samples or get a proof before printing?
Yes, we encourage doing this. 8″ x 10″ samples are available for order.
It is helpful to order several samples and place them adjacent to one another on your surface to achieve a more realistic idea of the final affect.
Samples can be ordered at the bottom of each of the product pages in the drop down choices.
Select the Size 8 x 10 dropdown first and a Composite Sample becomes the choice available for the Color/Style dropdown for designs with multiple colorways.
If the design you are most interested in does not have a sample available, please consider ordering a Custom Sample to review the materials.
Upon purchasing, a special discount code is sent to the customer with their sample. It is up to the customer to use this code to reimburse the cost of their standard sample when a larger order of $50 or more is placed.
Custom color samples are required as part of the process for approving custom colors or designs prior to printing larger custom orders. They include some labor fee for creating and color-matching a custom sample and therein are not reimbursable, but their shipping is included in the price.
It is important to note that ALL our samples have a label on the back that states, “Pre-production sample, not for color match.” This refers to the fact that not all printing will have an absolute exact match between print runs. Because all our rolls are custom printed upon demand and not at the same time as our samples, just like fabric dye lots, there may be a slight shift in coloration between different print runs. In addition, because we print digitally, when our print machine software is updated, there may be a slight shift in coloration. Light, temperature, humidity and other environmental factors can also affect printing. It is rare that any change in coloration is noticeable but if it is, it will only be a slight difference, if that.
Do you charge sales tax?
Only for those orders placed in VA, is a 6% sales tax required.
Can I check the status of my order?
Yes, you will receive an email once your order has been shipped. You may track your order for removable wallcovering rolls through the link provided in your shipping confirmation email.
Samples are sent through the United States Postal Service standard mail system.
Who do you use for shipping?
