During the Covid-19 pandemic our nation and the world went into lock down, but as we looked outside, we noticed something differently — nature.
For many months, a year or more, many of us stayed inside. There was uncertainty and fear in the air. Those of us in urban areas, particularly in bustling cities like Washington, DC, noticed something audibly different — silence. With little traffic on the roads, rails and skies, nature that has always surrounded us, appeared suddenly more abundant. Had the wondrous symphony of bird sounds always been this melodious? We really noticed it; we observed it; we communed with it; we craved it because it connected us to a larger world than just a fast-paced lifestyle of work with unease about the unknown. In many ways, we reconnected ourselves to nature. It brought us joy. We slowed down. We appreciated each other and all forms of life around us, maybe even things we had taken for granted.
With great sadness many lives were lost to Covid-19. However, with such tragedy comes rebirth. We remain hopeful that every life-challenge brings some positive outcome. Hopefully, we can re-emerge from this year-long-plus health crisis with a healthier attitude to continue to take care, time to observe and appreciate the abundance of Nature Noticed all around us.
Casart’s Nature Noticed designs are a collection of sketches and refined illustrations of many animals, birds, botanicals, and bugs, among many other subjects that were observed and appreciated during the nation’s lock down due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
We have assembled them in multiple removable wallpaper formats, as seasonal, large-scale garden murals (TBA) that can be used as accent artwork for a focal wall or, collect all four for a wall-to-wall, “surround-site” view. These are actively being produced and will be unveiled as they are completed.
In the meantime, the Nature Noticed designs we currently offer in this collection are the most flexible of all Casart designs. They are featured as architectural panels with or without nature illustrations and can be arranged in any way with multiple sizes (full rolls and bookcase backings with different design combinations), vertical or horizontal presentations, as well as with and without sketches so you can personalize your look. Since Casart is DIY self-adhesive, these designs are very easy to press and apply, reposition, remove and reuse to creatively express your own unique art wallcovering display.
We have “pinned” our out-in-nature sketches to an architecturally-paneled, gallery-wall made with our Gustavian-inspired Faux Panels with a Swedish, light blue palette. (See the originals in the Architectural Collection.)
There are more sketches and designs on the way but in the meantime, click the designs in this collection below and consider how they can be personalized with your own nature noticed beauties.
