First, this update. I’ve spent two weeks in Tunisia, a north African country that could be considered third world in many aspects. Yet they recycle, irrigate and rotate crops. At the brand new Eden Palm museum in Tozeur, I learned every part of the date palm is used. Nothing is wasted. The fruit is used for jam and flavored “butters” in addition to dried packaged dates. The palm fronds are used for wood furniture, basket-weaving, sand retention fences like our snow fences, and thatch for roofing and for fuel.
I returned to America, a world powerhouse nation, and what did I find? Nothing has changed here in two weeks or even four weeks. Oil is still exuding from the broken pipe into the Gulf waters and encroaching on gulf coast states’ shores. Fingers are being pointed in all directions and an investigative committee has been appointed. That’s what you do in government when you don’t have a solution to a problem. Officials can’t even reach a consensus on how much oil escapes every day. Well, never mind. Here’s a statistic that will stick in your brain forever. IT CAN TAKE FOUR PEOPLE WORKING 45 MINUTES AND USING 300 GALLONS OF WATER TO CLEAN JUST ONE BROWN PELICAN.
I was catching up on email and saw this “launch” tip from Ladies Who Launch’s founder, Victoria Colligan. I thought it relevant considering my current frustration and frame of mind.
Experts say the color green is both therapeutic and rejuvenating. Consider using green in certain key areas of your home or office to stimulate feelings that will move launching projects forward towards growth and prosperity.
Below are the top 6 ways that the color green can be a powerful mindset aid:
* Soothing
* Relaxing mentally as well as physically
* Balances the body by bringing healing feng shui vibrations from Mother Nature.
* Helps alleviate depression, nervousness and anxiety
* Offers a sense of renewal, fresh energy and new beginnings
* Self-control and harmony
For optimal results, use several different shades of green and try integrating actual plants with lush green foliage.
Green is soothing and here are several Casart removable wallpaper green options.
Between the oil spill and jet lag, perhaps I should seek a nice restful bedroom with green accents like this Artichaut removable wallcovering!
I’ll write about my trip later. For now, I’m crashing!
