The Art of Color brings soothing subtle tones of silver, pinks, and chocolates. The drama of black and white. The bold, bright electric colors of the 60s. The surprising blend of blues. It’s all in the September issue of House Beautiful, The Art of Color. I loved it all! But my eye lingered on Snap, Crackle, Pop! about a beach house designed by Mona Ross Berman. It encompassed all those bright yellow, orange and turquoise colors that can’t help but make you feel happy.

I agree with Berman who said the strong color “keeps the mudroom from looking like your everyday mudroom.”
Who wouldn’t be eager for a meal at this table! I’m having guests for brunch tomorrow. Think I’ll canvas my linens and dinnerware to see if I can pull together a similar combination of colors.

All the bright colors couldn’t help but bring to mind Mary Douglas Drysdale’s Signature Colors for Casart. They brighten any room as well as encourage a cheerful outlook on the day.

See what I mean? Now, go enjoy a cheery day!
