Put a Bird on It

I was first going to entitle this post Bare Naked…Trees but with Thanksgiving right around the corner, it seemed more appropriate to call it Put a Bird on It, which was the title of Jane Kim’s art exhibit in which she used Casart custom wallcoverings.

She used her beautifully illustrated birch tree design to create an interactive exhibit for RISD’s alumni and parent/ student weekend event. Jane’s design was printed on two rolls of Casart at 10′ tall. Although Casart wallcoverings are not meant for outdoor application or brick walls, Jane took a gamble and it paid off. She tested first with a sample, which is always a good idea to do first. Once printed even with prior rainy and cold weather conditions, our wallcoverings were installed on the brick walls without any difficulty. Even though they were holding up on their own, for extra measure only, a silicon gel was added in a few pivotal corners.

The weather during the event turned clear and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves during InkDwell’s Put a Bird on It exhibit, where participants could dress those bare naked, yet beautiful birch trees.

When the meal and holiday is done, change these wallcoverings seasonally and reuse next year or you might want to keep in place. You can always remove when you are ready for a change.
