Like many people I know who are in college or recently graduated, moving year after year is the norm and creates a rental life. I have personally lived in five different dorm rooms or apartments since I left home for college in the fall of 2008. From the cinder block walls of my first year dorm to the blank white walls of my bite sized room in London, moving into a nondescript, blank new abode is something with which I have become very familiar.

There is a very distinct frame of mind that happens when you are faced with the possibility of living in a room more dull than your Introduction to Financial Mathematics class: instantly personalize! Print out pictures of friends, buy posters of rock bands or movies, and spend hours taping them to the wall, hoping that your security deposit doesn’t disappear if paint rips off. When the year iss over, and you are dealing with end of semester madness, you tear down the photos you spent forever printing out and throw them in the garbage. They are not in great shape anymore, and it’s not like you have the time or space to pack them.

That is why I love the idea of removable wallpaper. You can create or select a design that is actually art, easily attach it to the wall, and when it’s time to move again, you can take it with you. You can go for something super chic, like a French Damask pattern, or save money on furniture by using a textile finish as a headboard.

And what could be a cooler way to record your favorite college memory or study abroad adventure than having a photo made into a wallcovering through Casart Photography?

If you’re getting ready to go off to college or renting an apartment, you may want to start thinking about how Casart removable wallcovering can help you solve the ‘renter’s dilemma.”
