C. Ashley Spencer, artist, designer and owner of Casart and Casart Coverings is honored to be profiled on VoyageBaltimore as one of their many creatives in their Inspiring Stories feature.
Many DC area local creatives are featured in this online magazine publication, including the renowned interior designer Mary Douglas Drysdale, with whom we have worked with in the past.
We encourage you to read their Most Inspiring Stories and Hidden Gems features. This includes designers, interior designers, photographers influencers, business owners, musicians, singers, performers, dancers, and more, all of whom help enhance lifestyles! As one commentator states she has,” enjoyed reading about ordinary people doing extraordinary things.”
Voyage’s online flagship started in LA (VoyageLA). They have now expanded to over nine major cities! Voyage was started by Mayak and Sid as an alternative to polished mass-produced journalism. Their intent, in contrast, is to feature authentic, “small businesses, mom-n-pops, and hole-in-the-walls. We’re not snobs, but we aren’t fond of most chains. We think independent entrepreneurs, freelancers and other risk takers make our cities exciting to live in…We cherish the rebel spirit…We root for the underdogs…Our goal is for people to spend more of their money with mom and pops, local artists, creatives and makers rather than with large, one-shape-fits-all corporations.”
Their mission is:
to build a platform that fosters collaboration and support for small businesses, independent artists and entrepreneurs, local institutions and those that make our city interesting. We want to change the way people spend their money – rather than spending it with the big, cookie-cutter corporations we want them to spend their money with the independent, creative, local entrepreneurs, small businesses and artists.
And finally, we want the stories we share to help give our big city a little bit of that small town community charm, where people know each other and their stories at a deeper, more personal level.
We whole-heartedly support there mission and couldn’t agree more about their work for a sense of community with what they do.
We are excited to be among their midst and send our gratitude to @VoyageBaltimore for their interview. They were a pleasure to work with and we appreciate their mission to give visibility to all the many creatives who might not be fully seen or heard or known otherwise.
Thank you Voyage Baltimore!
