This was a great post in Houzz recently about “10 Popular Home Trends: Timely or Timeless?” by Samantha Schloech. It’s received over 280 comments and still going. A touchy or tender subject about what style choices and designs withstand the test of time? You decide. We’d love to know your thoughts. Weigh in here with your comments. We haven’t done too many contests, but who knows, if we get a lot we may “give up some gold,” so to speak. Let us know what you would want: Casart Stripes, Backsplashes, new or ongoing designs? - Moroccan Poufs
- Wooded Wallpaper — √ (Nature and reflection of it is always in)
- Mid Century Modern Wallpaper
- Mid Century Starburst Mirror
- Mid Century Everything — √ (even it it goes, it will cycle back around)
- Butterflies — √ (never goes out of style)
- Old Globes — √ (we’ll always come back to items that have “Old World charm)
- Fake Taxidermy
- “For Like Ever” Posters
- Wall Decals
This is a big topic, by the way. It was also featured in ASID’s weekly Eye on Design. Trends, whether you like them or not, are on your mind because you see them around you. They can affect your buying choices and you may feel swayed by marketing promotions. Here’s our general take on trends:
