Things are Looking UP. Sunday was reflective for many of us. Fortunately, it was quiet here in the DC area. Knowing things change and a new season abounds, we, at Casart Coverings are always thinking of new things. We will be introducing many new products soon, one of which will be our new Ceiling Map Murals and Casart Ceiling applications. You know that the ceiling is the 5th wall, right? We like to consider every possible surface when decorating (look at our stair mural and stair risers, for instance).
Before I introduce our Casart Ceiling wallcoverings, let me start by showing you some examples of how designers use the ceiling as a design element in their interiors. In fact there are so many examples, that I just have to pare down to a few.
I enjoy everything about Decorati’s profile on Gideon Mendelson when I first read it back in July. He has a keen eye for the exceptional in design and clean lines, which I like. I love the unexpected and Mr. Mendelson exceeds all expectations here. Why even his name makes me think of giddy trumpets….(ref. Gideon’s Trumpet). His design below carries your attention upward toward the ceiling but grounds it with the same green color used in the cabinets. The feeling is country sophisticate and very welcoming.

His answers in the Decorati interview resonated with me as well:
What is the ultimate goal of all your projects?
a. To create a relationship with my clients based on trust.
b. To create a comfortable, open environment for real communication so that the design process can take place smoothly.
c. To make a positive difference in how my clients live.
d. To challenge myself creatively and produce work I’m proud of.
Here are other examples of concentrating on the fifth wall for interior design:

Well, I hope I’ve got you thinking for you’ll have to wait until next time when we’ll hopefully have our designs up on our website and will be able to unveil. Meanwhile don’t forget to keep looking up for things keep getting better.
