We are so excited to share the use of Casart Coverings’ Faux Tortoiseshell, self-adhesive wallcovering by interior designer Ken Fulk for his legendary design at the new Legacy Records restaurant in New York City!

Casart Coverings commercial grade, Casart Regular wallcovering made for the perfect use in a bathroom, where it can be wiped and withstand high traffic that other non-commercial-grade wallpaper would not.
The wallcovering was time-efficient and easy to install because it uses a self-stick, peel and stick application, with no mess and glue required.
Here’s a little bit more about the project and all the parties involved.
Legacy Records is a new 85-seat restaurant by Delicious Hospitality, the same team behind the successful downtown restaurants Charlie Bird & Pasquale Jones. It is located at 517 W. 38th Street in NYC’s Hudson Yards neighborhood.

Delicious Hospitality Group operates the hospitality component of this Henry Hall residential unit with Legacy Records Restaurant below. Their website states that “Chef Ryan Hardy’s menu features his fresh, flavorful cuisine, inspired by Italy’s northern coasts.” The space spans two floors that includes private dining rooms, a test kitchen and a bar. The entire vibe has a member’s only feel where everyone is welcome. This is also the case with the lobby of Henry Hall, which is the site of the former Legacy Recording Studio, hence, the restaurant’s name. Owners of this developement are Imperial Companies & Shorenstein Residential.

Ken Fulk, the famed San Francisco based interior designer used his “legendary maximalist style sense” to craft a space that blends a balance between many eras that is classic, lavish, and yet elegantly understated. Designers from Ken Fulk’s team contacted Casart Coverings to create a custom color for the Faux Tortoiseshell 2 design that at the time we offered in Red. We used the Natural coloration that was also used for the Faux Tortoiseshell 1 design. This has been a popular color and design since it was introduced, so it made sense to use something similar. Once approved, we made this color one of our standard offerings so you can get the look as well. You can see more of Ken Fulk’s work here in our previously written blog posts.
MG & Company was selected for their contracting to build out the spaces and their construction management services. They have a wealth of experience and have completed many restaurants.
Matt Mysel, who also works for MG & Company took the exceptional Legacy Records pictures above via his company, ImagesbyMatt. If you need interior photography, he’s the one to contact. Our dear friend Shauna Storey Grisset, author and illustrator and former New Yorker, took some of the other photos that we are pleased to share.
We thank all those involved for including Casart Coverings! We’ve really enjoyed being a part of this project and look forward to being involved in more commercial, restaurants and hospitality projects in the future.
