We’re setting the teen scene with decor as the summer winds down and we’re gearing up to go “back to school.”
There was an experiment back in October of last year, where Montgomery County Libraries queried teens and asked them what kind of setting would be most inviting? After they got their answers they challenged four designers to revamp their library spaces in hopes to attract more teens. Kathleen Hom writes about, “The Library Teen Scene” in the Washington Post.
The ideal space for teens to study was “a place that specifically welcomed them: not secluded or segregated, but not upfront and conspicuous with neon colors either; comfortable and sophisticated, but not trying too hard to be young and stylish.” Here’s an illustrated concept below following designer Dan Banks ideas for the Quince Orchard High School Library:

The space before:

The same design principals would work for a teen’s bedroom or college dorm room. The artistic side walls above would be easily achieved by using Casart reusable wallcovering in some of our murals, decorative finishes, patterns or even uploading a personal photo.
Since teenagers like change, Casart wallpaper can be easily applied and changed out seasonally or whenever they wanted because it’s not permanent, however, it can be as long as one wants.
Teens would never get bored in their personal spaces. We are about to unveil our new t3 (tots, tweens, teens) collection just to suit this purpose. These designs can be mixed and matched with our other repositionable wallpaper designs to suit their ever changing styles as they get older. Casart wallcovering can even go over itself and still be reusable.
Now that’s the way to get back into the study groove!
