I’m sucked into the Real Housewives TV series on Bravo, especially the New York series and I’m certain several of you are as well. I just can’t help myself. Even though this season just ended I felt the need to comment on Jill Zarin’s Upper East Side apartment. I would write about the currently airing The Real Housewives of New Jersey and their style but that’s an entirely different kind of, um….style? As you know, Jill renovated her apartment last season. She used shades of teal and blues. I read somewhere that she decided on these colors to compliment her skin tones. It was also features in Traditional Home shortly after the make over was completed.
I think the apartment looks much better and has a softer and delicate feel. Here are the before and after pictures.
I like what her “make-up artist/designer/gay husband/hairdresser/dog walker and stylist”, Brad Boles, has done with the kitchen cabinets. He’s simply placed wallpaper in the inset of the cabinets to add some drama to the cabinet fronts. Jill is all about drama so this works perfectly.
You could do the exact same thing with any of our removable wallcoverings. But, it wouldn’t be permanent, as our coverings are removable, so you could change it out with another design of your choice with ease. I’ve put together a design board with a few color options from Casart.
