Get a fresh start to your fall with our new Faux Grasscloth design.
It’s classic AND contemporary. Adding to this stylistic sense, our new Grasscloth design comes in neutral colors and electric blue and colors can be customized.

Since our design was inspired in part by a recent conversation with acclaimed designer Vincent Wolf, who’s work we really enjoy, we thought we’d show you the visual impact a grasscloth wallcovering has in his interior design. Both of these images were featured in New York Spaces. Both are beautiful. The grasscloth wallcovering simply adds sophisticated texture and subdued color to an already existing streamlined design.

Our Grasscloth design has a different look than traditional grasscloth, which typically runs horizontally, as seen in these images from Houzz.

Our Grasscloth design gives the impression of both vertical as well as horizontal texture.

Like traditional grasscloth, there’s beauty in its imperfection, giving it an organic feel, perfect for our Organics Collection.
Grasscloth wallcovering became popular in the 1960’s and 1970’s with 36″ wide wallpapers made of hand-woven, natural materials such as arrowroot, hemp, reed, burlap and jute. No two panels are the same so they cannot be matched. We like this look but ours does match side-to-side because of the vertical presentation. If you like the “paneled” look, you can achieve this by turning the design horizontally or with our Raw Silk, Faux Linen and other Organic style wallcovering, which are not meant to repeat horizontally.
You can see more examples in this Houzz article, in which Casart Coverings is featured about the organic look of grasscloth and other “natural” type wallcovering. Grasscloth can add warmth and dimension to an interior. It never goes out of style because it is understated and has timeless, upscale appeal.

Unlike traditional grasscloth, our Grasscloth is easy to install. With our self-adhesive wallcovering, you simply peel and stick to apply.
Also, our wallcovering has the added benefit of being wipeable and durable, high-grade, commercial (Type II, Grade A / Casart Regular). It won’t attract any cat-claws as traditional grasscloth might. Casart Light, our light-weight fabric version can go on the ceiling.
Besides a lot of requests for grasscloth, bringing this classic & traditional design into the modern century with practical features and versatile styling ability was our main inspiration.

You can always remove, change and even reuse whenever you like.
