When I think of lots of polka dots I immediately think of infants or children. That doesn’t have to be the case anymore. Polka dots can be both whimsical, fun and elegant. I love this use of polka dots on the floor by Christian Lacroix in his boutique hotel called Hôtel du Petit Moulin in Paris. Check out the link! It’s a very cool hotel.
Even furniture can use dots to show a bit of whimsy without being too cutesy.
This last item is a personal choice and perhaps a “not so subtle” hint to my husband. I’d love to own this in the next month or so as my wedding anniversary and birthday are approaching.
So don’t think of polka dots as something only suitable for a nursery. Instead, embrace and decorate yourself, your floors, your furniture or whatever you want.
