Our new Nature Noticed designs were inspired by noticing a lot of nature while hunkering down for over a year due to the Covid-19 viral pandemic. Our sketchbooks became a companion and a visual documentation of these observations. We weren’t the only ones. Many people around the world noticed nature, particularly in cities, where the hum of the traffic stopped and commerce halted. The lack of sound was unfamiliar and strangely noticeable, as was the replacement of the familiar, expected sounds with what we heard, bird calls and now cicada “ohms.”
These sounds of nature are abundant, existing all around us, although we often don’t hear them with other man-made sounds drowning them out. Through this experience of isolation from friends, family, daily activities and living life, we appreciated the sounds of nature even more. They are almost almost zen-like, certainly meditative and calming. Observing nature makes you slow down and reflect on what is really important in your life. This was one of the benefits during a very uncertain, scary, and tragic time.
Our new Nature Noticed designs take these observations to heart. We are excited to introduce these to you, coincidentally right as the nation and world comes out of this long pandemic. The sketches are not only of animals and birds that we noticed but also include flowers and plants that were grown and enjoyed. Although sketches have always been an ongoing activity for us, certain Nature Noticed designs were singled out and used to “pin” onto our Gustavian-inspired architectural panels much like a display board or gallery wall.
We wanted to introduce the collection before it was fully completed because it will be an ongoing, progressive project. Meanwhile, we didn’t want to stop you from collecting and enjoying the panels that have been completed for your own Nature Noticed accent wall or full-room, wall-wrap. The designs are offered in full panel sizes, 52″ w x 96″ (8′) h, as well as separated into four individual segments that are bookcase backing size, 52″ w x 48″ h each. These segments will allow you to use the design in smaller areas such as bookcase backings and backsplashes or even on a flat door to make it look paneled, but you can also mix and match and combine the designs in any order — not just as we have them on the full roll size.
There is a lot of flexibility with these Nature Noticed designs. You can create how you want them displayed and extend the width or the height with the various sections and sizes. We are offering this first set in a horizontal format with architectural panels that will have sketches as shown and as an architectural panel that will be sold separately in the Architectural Collection without any sketches. This way you can create full “faux” paneled walls and intermix the panels with the nature sketches. Here’s an example of how we commune with nature — literally in our dining room with friends and our Nature Noticed panels as our art gallery wall as our backdrop.
The second Nature Noticed Panel 2 design that will be introduced this summer will have a vertical panel orientation with the same full panel roll size. There will also be smaller segments to be able to mix and match, combine in any order, as well as extend the width and height of any of the panels when used together. The vertical architectural panel will also be sold separately without the sketches.
The architectural panels have a cool, calming, pale, muted blue tone that is indicative of Gustavian, Swedish, Scandinavian style during the 1700’s that has remained timeless and popular. The Hygge movement of modern times has further caused this style to resurface and flourish, particularly now as we seek comfort in our interior settings.
Offering the architectural panels without the sketches provides several possibilities. You can create your own faux paneled wall or room. You can use them to pin and display your own drawings or artwork as a gallery-like presentation. We can also color customize the faux panels and print your own artwork directly onto the panels for a completely custom, print option.
In addition to these 2 components of the new Nature Noticed designs — artistic sketches in gallery display and architectural panels– we are working on a 3rd grouping of seasonal, full-roll-size garden illustrations that can also be mixed and matched with the other designs. Each single roll is a full size image. There are no separate panels needed to create a single image but the individual images will work together anyway you combine them for a continuous visual flow over an accent wall or full-room wall-width. You can completely customize the finished look of your space by installing one, two, or all three components of this collection, side-by-side in any order, and/or intermixed with non-sketch Gustavian architectural panels as well as other Casart removable and reusable wallpaper designs.
We’ve done a lot of staring at our interior walls over the last year and a half! It’s so nice to get outside freely now, but also lovely to bring the outdoors inside, as you can with our Nature Noticed designs. Now you can take action to upscale the look with our new Nature Notice designs. You can personalize your interior design with artistic panache and make it your own! The creative choices are endless and left up to your imagination.
