A way to beat the heat is to think cool. I’ve often thought the hottest days of summer are in July and we’re right smack dab in the middle of it with that sweltering, soupy, humid heat. Dwell magazine touts what’s hot with new, modern decorating trends and products and décor. Bold, hot walls were noted recently in an online posting. Here’s their example.
We certainly like color and have a lot of bold hues in our repertoire of over 130 designs, as seen by just these few.
These similar Colorwash removable wallcoverings in Mary Douglas Drysdale’s Signature Colors, Jefferson Yellow and Tuscany, mimic the bold wall treatment and hot, hot color.
What about fiery orange? We’ve got it in designer colors and designs. Coming down from this July 4th’s festivities and long weekend, this American Flag composite of Libby Langdon’s designs (Lively Lattice in Midnight Navy and Chic Chevron in Orange Fire) seems appropriately bold to use.
But, we also like cool colors, particularly when it’s hot outside. Here are just a few examples:
While we’re on the subject of cool, how cool is this concept?
And guess what, we have the Faux Glass Mosaic Tiles to achieve the look and in cool teal. Ours is a lot less labor intensive. You can just cut, peel-and-stick and remove and reuse the wallcovering whenever you want. It comes in clear so that if you place over a light colored surface, you’ll get a totally different look, or you can customize your color.
Still hot? Think cool. Just looking at this painting by Josep Moncada may do it for you, just make sure you have a tall cool drink in hand while viewing. He has some beautifully cool paintings on his site.
Stay cool!
