I started noticing butterflies featured in magazines, in catalogs, and in fashion in November but now they are proliferating in abundance. Since I love butterflies, I’m very happy about this phenomenon. I think it has something to do with spring being on our minds in the dead of winter and now that it is officially here, we are celebrating it with a rebirth of energy and multitudes of color, as symbolically seen by the butterfly. Here are some examples below.
I think this butterfly sculpture made from salvaged beer cans by Paul Vilinski, featured in Myra Hoefer’s interior design for House Beautiful’s April issue, is wonderful and really gives the realistic sense of butterflies circulating around the room. A neutral palette helps this focal point to stand out and allows for some interjection of color. I like how Splendid Sass also features this room on her blog.

Their movement is further enhanced by placing them on the ceiling.

These are gorgeous and a good way to recycle all those beer cans but you can also find a similar pre-made sculpture from Frontgate.

Or maybe a Martha Stewart Wreath from Grandinroad….

I really like this one and it comes in a garland as well. We used something very similar for our trade show booth back in 2009.

Look at all the variety of butterflies offered in Signals catalog. Personally, I think I may just have to purchase this Blue Butterfly Tote.

This Butterfly Dress by Mary L. Couture was mentioned on the Stylist in 2007 but I think it is still fashionable today.

And then, a Tiffany brooch never goes out of style.
You can easily decorate your home in the spirit of Spring with hand–painted Casart Butterflies, show here in a composite as a custom, removable and reusable designer wallcovering. All of these butterflies come individually and can be paired with any of our current Wallfinishes or our other designs as backgrounds. The Light Green Colorwash is paired with this Butterfly Composite. This allows you the ability to customize your selection any way you choose.

We’ve written about butterflies on this blog many times before because they express our business philosophy that Casart can easily transform your décor and give it renewed life.
In the spirit of Spring and rejuvenation, here’s an earlier tribute to butterflies that we wrote about the humble but beautiful butterfly.
Happy Spring!
