Before I discuss the ultimate repurpose or reuse topic, I want to follow up on a post that I saw today about Carole Thibault-Pomerantz’ beautiful book Wallpaper. I had done an earlier post about this book and then saw a mention of it in Marisa Marcantonio’s Stylebeat. Lynde Easterlin, a New York designer, is the lucky winner of this coffee table-worthy tome. Lucky Lynde!
I saw a neat recycling idea for using Casart Wallfinishes removable wallpaper that I just had to share with you. Don’t throw away that empty cake mix box or coffee can. Here’s the idea from the Fall/ Winter 2009 Better Homes and Gardens Storage issue.
If you cut cake mix boxes in varying heights, cover in with Casart removable wallpaper, and secure with double stick tape, you end with a nice desk top organizer. Different size yogurt cups placed in holes cut out of a larger box store crayons, paints and other craft supplies. Coffee cans or icing cans make attractive banks to hold coins saved for special goals. Whether you decide to use a solid or patterned design, the finished product will be a one-of-a kind, durable and sustainable creation! You’ll find the ultimate way to repurpose or reuse Casart wallpaper to redecorate more than just walls!
This is a yellow Faux Padded Harlequin Casart reusable wallcovering embellished with a fleur di lis stamp.
One of the wood patterns like this Zebrawood would be different.
