This is a time of giving and it’s often difficult to find a the perfect gift that is meaningful for someone: not the most expensive gift and not the biggest gift, but the gift of love that only you can give to someone. Last year I wrote a post about the perfect gift of love. It was a Memory Box I received from my children several years ago.
I still have it and during the holidays each day I read a few memories that all four of them had written. The box was decoupaged by Lindsey. That was long before Casart Coverings existed, so it was much more laborious to paste the children’s names typed in various fonts and sizes onto the box and the lid. I cherish the thought and time that went into collecting all the memories from her sisters and brother and preparing the box as much as I cherish the memories.
It’s not too late to give a gift of memories and it doesn’t have to be in a box. You can type out the memories, cut them into strips, scrunch them and put in a gift bag tied with a bow or place them in an envelope with a gift seal. It’s the perfect gift for children to make for grandparents or godparents. You may have to supervise, depending on the age of the children, but it’s a wonderful opportunity to share quality time with them and instill the true meaning of giving.
