Did you hear that stripes are the new “in thing” for 2013? We know how versatile they are, especially if you can move them around and rearrange any way you want. We’ve had them for quite a while with the Karen Robertson Collection. Some of her colors blend beautifully with Tobi Fairley’s recent Stripe Challenge on Olioboard.
You have 15 days to check it out and create your own. The winning prize is two tickets to Tobi’s popular Design Camp. “Journey to get Published.”
Tobi has some great pieces like this Rothesay Lantern, which I love + some great patterns.
I remember she used this lantern in her fabulous design for the Richmond Design Showhouse.
…as well as stripes!

Here’s our entry based on Tobi’s Instant Room featured in this month’s issue of House Beautiful! We use Karen Robertson Key Lime Stripes in Casart Light on the ceiling and in Casart Regular over Mary Douglas Drysdale Signature Color, Jefferson Yellow Color in Faux Linen. You can click here to see our other stripe entry, also previously posted on our blog. You can vote for us here! (Click on the heart)

The one thing that is a little frustrating with Olioboard is you cannot have perspective and you cannot crop items except with perpendicular or parallel proportions. I fudged it here by finding armoire type china cabinets at an angle. They help create the 3-D perspective in the concept room.

Happy President’s Day! While on holiday, have fun entering the challenge! Be sure to use our stripe set — a great way to use individual stripes and share your boards with us!
