Ah, to have a home that occupies a baby grand piano…I’m hoping to make my husband’s dream a reality soon. Our new home has the perfect room. Huge ceilings with cozy built in seating divided into three romantic nooks along the wall. It even has french doors that open onto the patio.
This got me thinking of how to go about decorating with such a large piece of “furniture” occupying the room. Below are some great starting places for inspiration for your baby grand.
Cynthia Rowley’s piano choice compliments her “shiny” styled living room of her New York townhouse.

I love the color palette designer Jeffrey P. Elliott chose in this 1940’s inspired room.

A baby grand piano should not compete with existing furniture in the room. It should be the focal piece only accented by complimentary, smaller furniture. The perfect example…

And for those of you that design out of the box try mixing classic with funky, contemporary pieces and you might like what you get. Chris Kraig form SUITE New York shows just how to accomplish this eclectic look for his baby grand.

I’ll post the before and after pictures once we finish the grand piano room…one day…Maybe it will have a Casart Coverings custom wallcovering as a backdrop. It would be super easy to install (peel and stick) and reuse if and when we ever move again.
