Byran Batt is Batting 100!
A successful acting career on Broadway. A character in the award-winning show Mad Men. A Big Easy home furnishing boutique named Hazelnut. A touching memoir, She Ain’t Heavy, She’s My Mother, and now, a second book, Big, Easy Style: Creating Rooms You Love To Live In; the title playing off of the nick name for New Orleans. Seems like Bryan Batt is batting 100 on the success scale!
Bryan says, “New Orleans is the city that care forgot. We don’t worry about what everyone else thinks. We’re not all fussy and we’re not all buttoned up. There’s a great sense of style, but it’s never contrived. There’s an authenticity to the rooms we put in this book.” Growing up in New Orleans with its rich history, traditions and les le bon temps roule attitude has influenced Bryan’s design style and his ability to bring about a space with panache that’s both fearless and colorful. He believes that designing a fabulous, livable home that truly reflects a dweller’s passions need not be intimidating. We agree with this design philosophy at Casart Coverings. It took Bryan and his partner, Tom Cianfichi, and co-author, Katy Danos, a year to style all the photographs by Kerri McCaffety that add so much to the reader’s pleasure in his Big, Easy Style book.
