We met Angelo Surmelis at High Point.I really wasn’t stalking him! Ashley was on her cell phone and I saw this man wearing a hat walking briskly in front of me, whom I immediately identified as Angelo Surmelis. Now, I’ve watched Angelo on HGTV’s Rate My Space and knew he had a line of furniture, bedding, rugs and drapes called appropriately enough angelo: HOME and was exhibiting at Showplace.
So I followed him as he returned to his showroom with his lunch. He could not have been nicer. We took pictures and he was interested in Casart wallcovering especially after learning about its properties of being not only repositionable and removable but also reusable.

Angelo says, “Creating angelo:HOME has been a dream of mine since the wall leaning days. It combines everything I love and what I am privileged to do. The goal is simple: Everyone can have Style (and for less)! It’s about having affordable, fun, and easy to do things… good stuff that you not only want, but also can actually afford. The angelo:HOME collection is committed to quality, value and ease. From the hand crafted details, to the no fuss assembly (many times none needed at all), to the high end looks at amazingly affordable prices, angelo:HOME has been designed to make putting your home together effortless and full of style. I want to help you realize your dreams however you want to live.”
After enjoying the food and entertainment on the 3rd floor Showplace terrace, we returned to Angelo’s showroom so I could photograph his hat collection.

Would you believe he was vacuuming the carpet? I offered to dust!
The angelo:HOME web site is loaded with all kinds of information and includes daily tips. On Angelo’s bio page there’s a link to his favorite things which I think you’ll find interesting. Angelo posts daily on his blog and offers detailed answers to design questions submitted. Where does the man get the energy and find the time? Angelo, if you read this, I really feel guilty about interrupting your lunch. You need the energy from those calories to keep up the pace you have set for yourself!
