A thread runs through it all started with the April issue of Elle Decor and an article about Maryam Montague and her husband, Chris Redecke’s home in Marrakesh. I spied a peacock pillow on the daybed in a photo of the beautiful blue master bedroom.

You may have guessed that blue is my favorite color from last week’s post, Blue Mood. Pick up a copy of Elle Decor. It’s a great story about a very interesting couple. They have a home furnishings shop, the Red Thread Souk. I’ve been to Africa 4 times and find it to be a fascinating continent. I’ll be touching shore again in Casablanca during a cruise of the Canary Islands in October. This will be my second visit to Morocco. When I Googled the Red Thread Souk, lo and behold, the name of the couple’s home/eco-resort is Peacock Pavilions! Of course, I thought of our Peacock Patterns. Hence, the title for this post evolved: Red Thread Souk-Peacock Pavilions-Peacock Patterns. How serendipitous is that?
Here are some photos of our peacocks as well as photos from Maryam’s award-winning blog, My Marrakesh.

Look at all the patterns in this guest bedroom and yet they all work together.

Yes, Maryam. It has all sorts of “out of the box” uses other than just on walls-mirrors, windows, metal, plastic, etc. You’re so creative I bet you can come up with a slew of uses we haven’t thought of!
BTW, your book, Marrakesh By Design is on pre-release order. Looking forward to May!
ooh what fun wallpaper! It would be such a fun surprise in a closet or drawers, too!
