Getting back to this ongoing series about Color Predictions for 2012 via Pantone’s color authority, Cabaret is the 4th color mentioned. Although not Christmas red it seems appropriate for the holidays because it reminds me of cranberries and Cabernet wine. Hmmm, I must have some holiday cheer(s) on my mind.
Here are a few Cabaret Concoctions for your home this holiday season.
Of course I’d like this first one found on PBC Style by Mary McDonald, after seeing her fabulous interior designs in her latest book, The Allure of Style.

And of course our very own offering of Mary Douglas Drydale’s Signature Color, Lipstick Plus in Faux Linen, could easily dress up your décor with removable and reusable wallcovering.

Although Pantone calls for one color to represent Cabaret, I think it expresses a range of pink and red tones, just like the drama that its name implies.

A great way to show the multiplicity of pink is with glass mosaic tiles, as in this example.

Here’s Casart’s Faux Glass Mosaic Tile in various tones of “Cabaret”. This is a fantastic way to get the look of glass tile without the cost of the actual installation of real tile. Ours is removable and reusable wallcovering that also comes in Red and other colors, as well as Casart Clear, a clear version that allows your paint color to show through as the grout color.

And I’ve always liked this pink room by Tobi Fairley.

And what would a little pink be without some holiday red, so I just had to include this room from PBC Style for a cinema/ lounge worth removing yourself from festivities to just get lost in.

Click here for other examples of shades of pink without going overboard. These are small wall décor solutions that add a punch of color and can be removed, stored and reused.

But to get you through the holidays, you may want to consider some cheerful measures like a Cranberry Cosmo or a Classic Cranberry Punch. RockURParty gives you recipes.

Cheers to Cabaret!
