Alright people, there’s just a week left in the contest and we still aren’t quite at our goal of 250 Facebook votes.\u00a0 This is like watching a horse race in slow motion and the finish line is juuuuuust ahead!\u00a0<\/strong> If you have voted already, thank you for your support.\u00a0 Please forward the information to others who would like to lend their support and vote, too.\u00a0 If you haven’t voted yet, please do so NOW!\u00a0 We have 7 more days\u00a0to get through this first phase just to be considered so please do not wait<\/strong>. Here are the easy, 5 second steps again for reference:<\/p>\n

1. Go the the Mission Small Business link and click Support on the right<\/p>\n

2. Login with Facebook account (no registration required to vote)<\/p>\n

3. Search Casart<\/a>\u00a0 in the businesses (no city or state needed)<\/p>\n

4. When we popup, click vote and you\u2019ll see \u201csupported\u201d to confirm your vote<\/p>\n

Earlier this month I posted Ready, Aim, Shoot Like A Pro!<\/a> photography tips Lauren Donaldson had given in a Houzz ideabook.\u00a0 <\/a>Now Lauren has done a part 2 ideabook for Houzz.<\/a><\/p>\n

These two pictures are from her part 2 ideabook.\u00a0 The first one is all about the architecture: the stark color contrasts of the terracotta roof tiles and the pale house facade surrounding the iron window bars.<\/p>\n

Jennifer Sergent <\/a>recently wrote in DC By Design<\/em><\/a> about the different perspectives of 2 photographers who photographed the same subjects.\u00a0 One was Thomas Arledge, an architectural photographer and the other was the landscape photographer, Roger Foley.\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0 The 2 sets of comparison pictures should whet your appetite, but you’ll see much more and learn more by reading Jennifer’s article.<\/p>\n

Thomas\u00a0 focused on the woods of the walls and floor, concrete blocks, and furniture.\u00a0 The exterior beyond serves as a backdrop.<\/p>\n

In the picture of the pool, Thomas emphasized the architectural elements: the pool, the deck, the steps and the snake railing, again allowing nature to serve as an accent.<\/p>\n
