For me it is not only for indulgence in luxurious visual eye-candy but to confirm and to be inspired by fresh interior design ideas. I also follow the local newspaper&#8217;s home section to see what interior design challenges can be solved with conceptual suggestions by a local interior designer.\u00a0 Although always informational, I don&#8217;t always see a design that I would implement. However, I saw a brilliant idea just featured that I had never really thought of before &#8212; how to treat corners!!<\/p>\n<p>Corners are often problematic for decorating. Furniture usually must align parallel or perpendicularly to them &#8212; unless you use a corner cabinet, which are often unappealing or something specifically designed for corner placement, like these beautiful pair of antique red oak cabinets with sculpted edges via <a title=\"Chic Provence\" href=\"https:\/\/chicprovence.blogspot.com\/2010\/05\/if-we-hurry-we-can-just-make-it-letude.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chic Provence<\/a>. The idea I saw, however, makes furniture placement in relation to corners secondary.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-7901\" title=\"sculpted corner cabinets_via chic provence\" src=\"https:\/\/www.casartcoverings.com\/casartblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/sculpted-corner-cabinets_via-chic-provence.png\" alt=\"sculpted corner cabinets_via chic provence on casartblog\" width=\"476\" height=\"291\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.casartcoverings.com\/casartblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/sculpted-corner-cabinets_via-chic-provence.png 595w, https:\/\/www.casartcoverings.com\/casartblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/sculpted-corner-cabinets_via-chic-provence-300x183.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 476px) 100vw, 476px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We all know about accent walls but what about an accent corner? In the design challenge in the <a title=\"Washington Post - Housecalls - painted corners\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/lifestyle\/home-garden\/a-multipurpose-sunroom-in-springfield\/2012\/02\/22\/gIQA0VBAiR_story.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>House Calls<\/em><\/a> section of the Home Section of\u00a0 <em>The Washington Post<\/em>, interior designer Jessica Granda Bonness of JGB Interiors came up with a very clever concept to paint the corner with horizontal stripes. This gives visual focus, a pop of color that immediately draws your attention to what she describes as a reading nook. Her design was intended to break up the space into designated areas because the unusual problem with this challenge was having too much space in the room. It might be good to paint yourself in a corner!
