I know, I know, the first day of autumn isn\u2019t until September 22, and I have to confess that my family is headed to Destin for a late beach vacation. However, it\u2019s not too early to start thinking about those chilly nights and holiday gatherings around the warming comfort of a fire. Valerie Holder Hedberg writes in the October issue of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.romantichomes.com\">Romantic Homes<\/a> that a fireplace anchors a room and offers a pleasing focal point. She says that even if not in use, the mantel and the anticipation of a fire say, \u201cWelcome, Come sit awhile and unwind.\u201d She, like I, loves the sounds and smells of a fire. She even had her home built to include six fireplaces. I only have two; one in the living room and a very small one in the dining room which has always made holiday family meals extra special.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_791\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-791\" style=\"width: 292px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.casartcoverings.com\/murals.html\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-791\" title=\"della-robbia2\" src=\"https:\/\/www.casartcoverings.com\/casartblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/della-robbia2.png\" alt=\"Della Robbia Garland\" width=\"292\" height=\"315\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-791\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Della Robbia Garland<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of the holidays, it\u2019s not too soon to think about how to make the mantel more festive. Our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.casartcoverings.com\/shop\/casart-botanicals-removable-wallpaper\/della-robbia-stair-mural\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Della Robbia<\/a> garland can be put up for Thanksgiving and remain through Christmas. You won\u2019t have the worry of falling ornaments or dropping needles plus, you can use it again next year. You can even use several on stair risers for a festive d\u00e9cor.
