She died on Sunday, August 30th in Boulder, CO at the age of 89. She and her husband Rudolf opened their first store in Hingham, Mass in 1947 and launched their mail-order business in 1948. In 1973 they sold Talbots to General Mills and Nancy Talbot remained as a vice president until retiring in 1983. Today, there are 586 stores.<\/p>\n<p>Talbots\u2019 latest catalog reflects those same staying qualities, featuring the return of the pant. This was a signature look for Katharine Hepburn and Grace Kelly. Katharine Hepburn wore pants before they became fashionable with other women.
