{"id":4448,"date":"2010-10-08T07:00:40","date_gmt":"2010-10-08T11:00:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.casartcoverings.com\/casartblog\/?p=4448"},"modified":"2022-07-18T00:41:59","modified_gmt":"2022-07-18T04:41:59","slug":"italian-stringing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.casartcoverings.com\/casartblog\/italian-stringing\/","title":{"rendered":"Italian Stringing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It seems that I am fixated on window treatments and Italian stringing, but what is it, exactly?<\/p>\n<p>Last week it was pelmets, parapluies, etc. and this week it&#8217;s Italian stringing.\u00a0 Perhaps I&#8217;m drawn to the subject because of a trip to Sicily and Malta planned for next year.\u00a0 Or it may be my inner self telling me to change existing window treatments which have been in place longer than I care to divulge.\u00a0 Or it could be a post on the subject by <a title=\"My Notting Hill-Italian Stringing\" href=\"https:\/\/mynottinghill.blogspot.com\/2010\/09\/italian-stringing.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>My Notting Hill.<\/em><\/a> Whatever the reason, it&#8217;s a great method for retaining drapes without using tiebacks.\u00a0 In my case, it is just about the only solution for a series of windows with varying heights that follow an abbreviated A- shaped roof line.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s what the backside looks like with a cord threaded through a series of rings.\u00a0 The cord can then be pulled and tightened to the desired tightness then tied.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4449\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4449\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.casartcoverings.com\/casartblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/P1080266-Italian-Stringing-back-side.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-4449 size-full\" title=\"P1080266-Italian Stringing-back side\" src=\"https:\/\/www.casartcoverings.com\/casartblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/P1080266-Italian-Stringing-back-side.jpg\" alt=\"Example of Italian stringing technigue on casartblog\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.casartcoverings.com\/casartblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/P1080266-Italian-Stringing-back-side.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.casartcoverings.com\/casartblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/P1080266-Italian-Stringing-back-side-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4449\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Italian Stringing technique<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The fabric is then held back in a gathered or pleated fashion.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.casartcoverings.com\/casartblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/P1080257-Italian-Stringing-e1285596513951.jpg\" alt=\"Italian Stringing on casartblog\" width=\"300\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Italian strung&#8221;
