Let’s say you’re ready for a change and want to revamp your interior at the start of this coming season. Where do you begin? We have a few forecasting tools for fall design to help.<\/p>\n

You can go small or go large but where are some latest accessories to see and wouldn’t it be great to see how they look in your interior before you purchase them? I’ve found a few useful sites and tools for this purpose that will help preview your vision, which may even be in keeping with the latest Fall Designs Trends as forecasted by the Washington Post<\/em>:<\/p>\n

2) Artisan wares<\/span> — (previous posts: Prison Stripes and Mother’s Day [peony] tray)<\/p>\n

3) Bold Prints and Pattern<\/span> — (so many, but recent posts: Old Spice, New Spice & Pick Your Favorites)<\/p>\n

4) Statement pieces<\/span> — (posts: Fun with Color & Going Green; with color, that is & Eyes of Teenager)<\/p>\n

5) Sparkle<\/span> — (previous posts: Glam it Up Go White & Blue for Sex and the City)<\/p>\n

6) Shades of gray<\/span> — (previous post: Trees & Tweets and Interactive Casart Designs)<\/p>\n

Now that you know the trends and maybe have seen our previous posts, you might like to see what these things look like in your room. You can use the Mood Board Creator from Olioboards to create visual interiors with images that you upload or that others have. It’s not quite as user friendly as Kaboodle (previously mentioned) but it is solely designed for those interested in interior design, this makes it better and there are a lot of examples of interiors here. This is a great way to see your room before you purchase anything. Let’s test it. Here are some items mentioned in the Washington Post<\/em> article.<\/p>\n

Here’s are the stages of my Retro Mood Board that I created on Olioboard. First I just used the items above\u00a0 that I uploaded + a table for the lamp:<\/p>\n

Individual items can be scaled, duplicated and flipped (how I created the pillows on the right). These features can be locked and the entire image can be scaled with the slider on the left.<\/p>\n

The gray Faux Linen Casart removable wallpaper<\/a> background ties it altogether.\u00a0 When images are uploaded they can be linked to their stores so you can see where and how much it would be to purchase. Images can be added to a set and you can easily search community sets for items to fill your “room.” Looking at other mood boards can inspire you with lots of ideas. Mine are rather simple compared to some others, which are truly remarkable.<\/p>\n

I was pleased to discover that one of the co-founders of Olioboard had already used our black and white Casart Birds and Birch wallpaper<\/a> as a background. All items can be made public or private when uploading and most people are happy to share. This is similar to Houzz — another good resource. Check out our profile and other ideas on the right sidebar link.<\/p>\n

Finally, there are a lot of sources out there for ideas and forecasting fall design trends but One Kings Lane has actual items. Once you’ve been invited to join, you can see daily sales of top designers and brand names, like this one below. The items in these sales are nearly 50% their original price!\u00a0 That’s incredible access to luxury brands that might not otherwise be that affordable.<\/p>\n
