Now I know you are wondering, \u201cWhat does a lion the hog and courage have to do with wallcovering?\u201d\u00a0 Let me explain.<\/p>\n

I received the Harley-Davidson Annual Report (don\u2019t worry, this grandmother doesn\u2019t ride a Hog but I know a good stock when I see one!) and saw this statement on the cover.\u00a0 \u201cCourage.\u00a0 You can call it character.\u00a0 You can call it determination.\u00a0 Or you can just call it guts.\u00a0 But courage changes everything.\u00a0 It\u2019s the stuff that gives you the confidence to power forward, seize the road and live your dream.\u00a0 And it\u2019s at the heart of every hard decision.\u201d <\/em> Still wondering?<\/p>\n

It made me think about the way Casart Coverings<\/a> started.\u00a0 My daughter Ashley had an idea to expand her artistic talents.\u00a0 She researched it, fleshed out all the particulars and then approached her also artistically talented sister, Lindsey, and me and we both jumped on board.\u00a0 It was a learning experience for all of us. We had never been in business together.<\/p>\n

Was it easy?\u00a0 No, but it was interesting and challenging.\u00a0 There were bumps in the road.\u00a0 Some aspects went smoothly, some did not.\u00a0 Sometimes good ideas required rethinking and a different approach.\u00a0 My daughters had to learn about digital printing and its related terminology, and many additional computer programs.\u00a0 I took on the challenge of attending the huge Specialty Graphic Imaging Association meeting, registered for seminars and learned about substrates, inks, and printers as I walked the entire exhibit hall in my comfortable walking shoes gathering information and samples.\u00a0 We all had the courage, determination and belief in our product\u2019s uniqueness to persevere and make the business a reality.<\/p>\n

Simran Khurana suggests that you find the lion within you. \u201dRemember the cowardly lion in The Wizard of Oz<\/em>? The concept completely overturned the typical belief that lions are brave. That unique and subtle message teaches us that no matter how great someone is, no matter how fearful they appear to be, they too are bound to have fear. Each one of us has our own set of fears that stop us from attaining our true potential.<\/p>\n
