{"id":2738,"date":"2010-03-12T07:00:40","date_gmt":"2010-03-12T12:00:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.casartcoverings.com\/casartblog\/?p=2738"},"modified":"2022-07-29T18:11:20","modified_gmt":"2022-07-29T22:11:20","slug":"the-botheration-of-blogging","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.casartcoverings.com\/casartblog\/the-botheration-of-blogging\/","title":{"rendered":"The Botheration of Blogging!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Oh the botheration of blogging, so why do I blog?\u00a0 My daughters dragged me, kicking and screaming, to the world of blogging with utterances of &#8220;I&#8217;m too old,&#8221; &#8220;I don&#8217;t know how&#8221; and &#8220;You know how computers hate me!&#8221;\u00a0 It didn&#8217;t work.\u00a0 So, here I am on a Thursday evening with not a clue as to a subject for tomorrow&#8217;s post.\u00a0 Then, I had a light bulb moment&#8230;why not write about someone who has been successful in design blogging?\u00a0 That could serve as inspiration for me as well as others.\u00a0 Naturally, the first person that came to mind is Jennifer Boles.\u00a0 Hers is a dream-come-true story.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Marcia Sherrill\" href=\"https:\/\/www.marciasherrill.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Marcia Sherril<\/a>l interviewed Jennifer for <a title=\"Jennifer Dwyer 1stdibs interview\" href=\"\/\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">1stdibs&#8217; Introspective Blogosphere<\/a>.\u00a0 The introduction to the interview acknowledges that if you had searched for the meaning of the word blog as recently as a decade ago, the results would have been <strong>Blois, France<\/strong> followed by <strong>bloke<\/strong>.\u00a0 Blogs were first used mainly as a political tool, but have become a personal and professional tool.<\/p>\n<p>Jennifer grew up surrounded by her parents&#8217; collections of American antiques and Chinese export porcelain which nurtured her early interest in art.\u00a0 It was further encouraged during her years on the beautiful Oxford-style campus of Sewanee (University of the South, and my daughter Ashley&#8217;s Alma Mata).\u00a0 Jennifer loved so many facets of design that she was undecided which one to pursue until she learned about a political blog and got the idea to write a blog about design.\u00a0 With the technology of the Internet along with her eye for design and her talent for writing, she quickly became a known personality.\u00a0 Today her blog, <a title=\"The Peak of Chic blog\" href=\"https:\/\/thepeakofchic.blogspot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Peak of Chic<\/a>, is a &#8220;must read&#8221; for anyone with an interest in design.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thepeakofchic.blogspot.com\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2739 size-full\" title=\"peakrefinedlogo\" src=\"https:\/\/www.casartcoverings.com\/casartblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/peakrefinedlogo.jpg\" alt=\"Does the Peak of Chic sense the botheration of blogging on casartblog\" width=\"600\" height=\"207\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.casartcoverings.com\/casartblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/peakrefinedlogo.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.casartcoverings.com\/casartblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/peakrefinedlogo-300x103.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>While it began as a vehicle to record her thoughts about design, it opened the door to meet others of like mind.\u00a0 Now Jennifer is the Southeast Contributing Editor for <a title=\"House Beautiful Magazine\" href=\"https:\/\/www.housebeautiful.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">House Beautiful <\/a>in addition to blogging daily!<\/p>\n<p>My goodness, I could use some of her energy!\u00a0 Okay, I promise I&#8217;ll never complain about blogging for <a title=\"Slipcovers for Your Walls\" href=\"https:\/\/www.casartcoverings.com\/casartblog\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Slipcovers for Your Walls <\/a>again. Plus, it is a good vehicle for letting others know about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.casartcoverings.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Casart Coverings<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em> &#8211; Lorre
