I was pleasantly surprised to find <a href=\"https:\/\/www.philipgorrivan.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Philip Gorrivan&#8217;s interior design work<\/a> in my December issue of Elle Decor. I admit I&#8217;m a little behind in my reading. Elle Decor replaced my subscription for Metropolitan Home. Despite the hectic pace of the holidays taking over, in some way I must have been subconsciously reluctant to pick it up because it would make the demise of Metropolitan Home valid.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2084\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2084\" style=\"width: 320px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2084\" title=\"Elle Decor, Season's Best, Holiday Issue, December 2009\" src=\"https:\/\/www.casartcoverings.com\/casartblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/interior-design-styles-ed1209-gorrivan-011.jpg\" alt=\"Elle Decor, Season's Best, Holiday Issue, December 2009\" width=\"320\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2084\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Elle Decor, Season&#8217;s Best, Holiday Issue, December 2009<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>I&#8217;m glad I did because there is <a title=\"Philip Gorrivan Design\" href=\"https:\/\/philipgorrivan.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gorrivan&#8217;s interior design work<\/a>, which I really enjoy and have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.casartcoverings.com\/casartblog\/?s=Philip+gorrivan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">written posts about before when I attended Gorrivan&#8217;s design lecture<\/a> at the DC Design Center.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2086 aligncenter\" title=\"Philip Gorrivan and family in Elle Decor. What a more interesting view when lying in bed to look and see an organic textured wallpaper than just a plain white painted ceiling.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2087\" title=\"Philip Gorrivan bedroom in Elle Decor. Photo by William Waldron\" width=\"320\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I thought, &#8220;Wow, that could be our Casart <a title=\"Previous posts on Faux Bois\" href=\"https:\/\/www.casartcoverings.com\/casartblog\/?s=faux+bois\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">faux bois<\/a>, it looks so similar.&#8221; What a great idea &#8212; a small solution that makes a big difference.\u00a0 Although <a title=\"Casart coverings home page\" href=\"https:\/\/www.casartcoverings.com\/shop-custom-temporary-wallpaper-store-and-decor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Casart reusable wallcoverings<\/a> are not meant for large-scale, full-coverage use for ceilings, we have tested it in small applications with no problems. We&#8217;ll even have some new designs coming with this in mind.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a title=\"Casart coverings Organics page\" href=\"https:\/\/www.casartcoverings.com\/organics.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1986\" title=\"Casart bleached faux bois\" src=\"https:\/\/www.casartcoverings.com\/casartblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/fauxboismedwoodgrain0076bleachedem.jpg\" alt=\"fauxboismedwoodgrain0076bleachedem\" width=\"275\" height=\"410\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Our <a title=\"Casart Faux bois on Organics Page\" href=\"https:\/\/www.casartcoverings.com\/shop\/casart-organics-removable-vinyl-wallpaper\/faux-bois-removable-wallpaper\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Faux Bois removable wallpaper<\/a> comes in natural, bleached, teal and ebony but can be custom colorized.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I remember thinking, when I was listening to Gorrivan describe the New Start of Luxury in his lecture, that using reflection on the ceiling was also brilliant (below photo).\u00a0 I imagine it could be achieved with a high polish, lacquer but I wonder if a glossy laminate would produce a similar effect? The ceiling actually opens up with this highly reflective surface. Something to try.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2088\" title=\"Philip Gorrivan, Elle Decor. Photo by William Waldron\" width=\"400\" height=\"320\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Can&#8217;t help but mentioning the Saints wining the NFL Championship &#8212; my hometown team is <strong>looking up<\/strong>, and I&#8217;m not even a football fan! <em>Go Saints! Who Dat! Superbowl, here we come!<\/em> What a great morale boost this is for New Orleans.
