We were happy to collaborate with the Artists4Others in their efforts for the New Orleans &#8220;Habitat House&#8221; and the <a title=\"Louisian SPCA\" href=\"https:\/\/www.louisianaspca.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Louisiana SPCA<\/a>. This collaboration began back in 2006 when I was involved in a project that fellow decorative artist, Adrienne VanDoren founded called <a title=\"The House That Faux Built website\" href=\"http:\/\/www.paintpro.net\/articles\/pp805\/pp805-faux.cfm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The House that Faux Built<\/a>, where over 100 decorative artisans from across the globe came together to apply their decorative finishes and expertise to renovate a house in Arlington, VA, as well as the Parish House of an Episcopal Church in the Chicago area. (This is a great resource book, still available btw, with step-by-step decorative and faux finishing tips and incredible make-overs &#8212; see sidebar link.)<\/p>\n<p>Once completed, these locations were open for public viewing to raise money for Hurricane Katrina victims in New Orleans. Proceeds from this as well as the book went to building a home in New Orleans through Habitat for Humanity, known to the contributors as the Habitat House. The house was finally built this fall and artists who were available arrived on site to complete the interior space for a family to move in. Although I wasn&#8217;t available to help with the finishing on site, <a title=\"Casart coverings website\" href=\"https:\/\/www.casartcoverings.com\/home.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Casart Coverings<\/a> sent many of <a title=\"Casart coverings butterflies\" href=\"https:\/\/www.casartcoverings.com\/shop\/casart-scenic-reusable-wallpaper-murals\/butterfly-elements-reusable-wallpaper\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">our butterflies reusable wallpaper<\/a> to be used in a combined and simultaneous effort for transforming the Cat Receiving Room at the Louisiana SPCA. Since the Faux House also funded animal rescue efforts, adding the artistic touch to the SPCA seemed like a natural follow up.<\/p>\n<p>If I am able to get a before picture of this room, I will add it but in the meantime, here are some shots of the completed transformation with painted foliage by Artists4Others and donated butterflies from <a title=\"casart coverings Facebook Page\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Casart-Coverings\/126117640427\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Casart Coverings<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2036\"
