It\u2019s very interesting reading, but out of necessity, a start and stop process. After all, it\u2019s large. Measuring 10\u201d x 13\u201d and over an inch thick, it\u2019s also heavy. It\u2019s not the kind of book you\u2019d take to read at the hair salon or pop into your carry-on for a flight reading. I just completed it and here of some things Ms. Thibaut-Pomerantz says about wallpaper in conclusion.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-left: 39pt; text-indent: -0.25in;\"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style=\"font-family: Symbol;\">\u00b7 <\/span><!--[endif]-->\u201cOriginally, paper\u2019s relatively inexpensive price compared to other materials was of prime importance in its choice. But as soon as wallpaper transcended mere imitation and developed its own originality and characteristics, it took this new mural art to another level-that of the finest engraving.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-left: 39pt; text-indent: -0.25in;\"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style=\"font-family: Symbol;\">\u00b7 <\/span><!--[endif]--> It isn\u2019t necessary to have large walls to use wallpaper. \u201cAs soon as a panel is hung in a small or narrow room, it creates an illusion of depth and expands the sense of space. And if a room lacks luminosity, these papers introduce light.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-left: 39pt; text-indent: -0.25in;\"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style=\"font-family: Symbol;\">\u00b7 <\/span><!--[endif]-->\u201cWallpaper, whether it is historic or contemporary, should therefore not be treated as simple rolls to cover walls, but rather as an object that can be hung, moved, or adapted.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-left: 39pt; text-indent: -0.25in;\"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style=\"font-family: Symbol;\">\u00b7 <\/span><!--[endif]-->\u201cOnce it is perceived as an art object, wallpaper takes on an entirely new role and dimension. In dialogue with other decorative elements, it becomes a new type of mural design.
