Update:<\/strong> Since we first posted, thanks to you, we’ve raised over $375 in needed funds from purchases from our Gulf Coast Recovery Designs that has been sent to Americares for their ongoing work for the most recent hurricane relief efforts. You can still give to this and their many other recovery efforts anytime but particularly on Giving Tuesday, in the Spirit of Thanksgiving. Thank you!<\/p>\n

We’re having an sale on our Gulf Coast Designs to help all 3 recent hurricane relief efforts!<\/h4>\n

If you’ve been unsettled with the damage the three most recent hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria have delivered to Texas, Florida & the Caribbean, especially Puerto Rico, you can help here with one effort<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

With our New Orleans hometown roots and experience with the effects of Hurricane Katrina, we want to pitch in to help.\u00a0 We also have personal affinity for Puerto Rico, Florida and Texas, which prompted us to find a way contribute to all areas through one reliable organization. Finding a singe source for this effort was not straightforward.\u00a0 Some of the main charities you first think about were being reported for lack of transparency, others specified hurricane relief efforts for just one or two hurricanes or contributed to just one single effort when so many places need support. We narrowed the field to Americares<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"Americares<\/p>\n

Americares is the one organization serving all three hurricane disaster areas with designated funds!<\/p>\n

We also like their name because America does care and this is a good way to show it.<\/p>\n

It has a top rating for transparency by Charity Navigator <\/a>and Charity Watch<\/a>, via Business Insider<\/a>, as giving 98.1% funding to their Americares Hurricane Relief Fund, which determines where the funds are needed most for the most immediate impact.<\/p>\n

In this effort, 10 is the magic number!!<\/p>\n

$10 off each Gulf Coast Design item (except samples) gives 10% to Americares!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

For every $10 donated, they provide $200 in aid!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Normally, 10% proceeds of all our Gulf Coast Designs<\/a> goes to the Greater New Orleans Foundation to help with ongoing Gulf Coast Recovery efforts; however, we’ve decided to temporarily divert these funds until midnight<\/span><\/span>, Saturday, October 7th<\/span><\/span> (EST) <\/strong>to Americares for this immediately needed aid. This is only 4 days because the need is urgent!!<\/p>\n
