Have you seen the latest House Beautiful October issue magazine?!<\/p>\n

We always get excited to see new interior-design related magazines but this one seemed so much up our alley.<\/p>\n

We couldn’t help but notice there was a large cloud painting in Benjamin Dhong’s<\/a> interior design on the cover.<\/p>\n

\"Casart<\/a><\/p>\n

The inside feature is entitled, Cloud Walk<\/em>. How appropriate and beautiful!<\/p>\n

\"Casart<\/a><\/p>\n

He uses clouds again in the living room but this time as a giant scaled art-piece of illustrated clouds on a cloud shaped board over the mantel. The graphic shapes give “touches of glamour” and play to the designer’s main interests.<\/p>\n

\"Casart<\/a><\/p>\n

In fact the entire magazine has clouds throughout.<\/p>\n

Just look at designer Ken Fulk’s<\/a> use of another cloud painting to pick up the rosy coloration for his winning kitchen design for the Junior League of New Orleans<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Side note:<\/strong> If you haven’t been to Ken Fulk’s<\/a> website, and “if you want a good time?” do so. He plays on his last name and it’s a fabulous trip through a peephole, filled with intrigue, the gilded age of jazz, elegant style and the surprises. He’s not afraid to turn up the dial with the unexpected. We love it!<\/p>\n

\"Casart<\/a><\/p>\n

Since we have New Orleans in our blood<\/a>, we couldn’t help but pay attention to this as well as the feature on Rivers Spencer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Love her shop! House Beautiful<\/a> calls her style “equal parts posed and ethereal.”<\/p>\n

It’s worth noting, clouds and contemplative art and surroundings are in!<\/p>\n

\u00a0Other equally important notions that this month’s issue focuses on are hand-painted murals and customization, with House Beautiful calling it, “the new mantra for your walls, Loosen Up.<\/em>“<\/p>\n

We love the hand-painted quality because it lends a unique imperfect character that is human rather than mass-produced sameness. We bring the hand-painted touch to all our wallcoverings<\/a>, and they can be customized. Already, they are all custom printed.<\/p>\n

\"Casart<\/a><\/p>\n

The magazine’s look back into history below shows a long tradition for hand-painted wall art. Since before man could read or write, drawings were used for communication. Now, there is refinement to this age-old expression.<\/p>\n

\"Casart<\/a><\/p>\n

We love this!!<\/p>\n

And we cheer designer Molly Luetkemeyer’s<\/a> philosophy that, “Murals can work wonders! They’re solutions for tricky spaces and funny angles. And you can use one to tie together all the colors in the project.”<\/em><\/p>\n

\"Casart<\/a><\/p>\n

We strongly believe in Caitlin Moran’s<\/a> thinking, “All of these fanciful textiles are meant to spur kids’ imaginations. I think childhood homes can inspire you for life.” <\/em>In fact, we are living this as a reality. If you grow up with art and beautiful imaginative surroundings, then creativity is bound to be a part of your thought process.<\/p>\n

\"Casart<\/a><\/p>\n

The magazine also highlights customization, which they call attention to with a Fireclay Tile<\/a> company that allows you to color-paint their designs and fires them for a customized backsplash in about 6 weeks.<\/p>\n

\"Casart<\/a><\/p>\n

We love this concept! We also have something similar with our MoRockAnSoul Collection<\/a> tiles as wallcovering, which can be customized in about 2 weeks. The great thing with our removable wallcovering is you can reuse and repurpose onto other surfaces. See our Ikea Hacks<\/a> post, for instance. This gives you the most flexible versatility to do what you want and when if you want to change the look at some point.<\/p>\n

\"Casart<\/a><\/p>\n

House Beautiful claims that even standard appliances are “being mixed and matched<\/em> with specialty add-ons…” and “customization [is] the defining luxury feature of modern luxury<\/em>.” We agree! Although we don’t think, “hyper-personalization<\/em>” is a trend so much as it is here to stay. Reason being, people want uniqueness, something that works for them and their lifestyle because it brings quality and convenience to their life. As long as items work period, resale is a second thought.<\/p>\n

One of the most remarkable features in this issue was Ken Fulk’s custom wallpaper used in a New Orleans’ family’s living room. House Beautiful states that Fulk “is a great fan of scenic wallpapers and decided to create his own version, personalized for the space.”<\/em> The walls were covered in a linen wallpaper and then hand painted by artist Rafael Arana, with illustrations based on New Orleans’ historic waterfront. Wow!<\/p>\n

We like being able to print it with less stress involved and less time on site.<\/p>\n

\"Casart<\/a><\/p>\n

It seems like House Beautiful isn’t the only magazine into clouds. We just saw that Traditional Home’s Facebook<\/a> is posting them too. This image below was from the Traditional Home Napa Valley Showhouse<\/a> with interior design by Scot Meacham Wood Design<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Hey, is that the same lithographic cloud print used by Benjamin Dhong as an art piece above the mantel and a similar cloud painting as on the cover or in our last post<\/a>, using the Napa Valley Living Room? Hmmm…Beautiful art is timeless!!<\/p>\n
