Well we love artichokes and occasionally like to mix it up in posting subjects beyond just interior design.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">If you like artichokes like we do, here&#8217;s a great recipe adapted from the cookbook <a href=\"https:\/\/www.barnesandnoble.com\/w\/a-kitchen-in-france-mimi-thorisson\/1118476940?ean=9780804185592\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>A Kitchen in France<\/em><\/a>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">4 canned artichoke hearts.\u00a0 Original recipe uses fresh artichokes<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">4 Tbs. unsalted butter, plus more for the ramekins<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">\u00bc C flour, plus more for the ramekins<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">1 C whole milk<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">Sea salt and fresh ground pepper<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">\u00bc C grated Gruyere or Comte cheese<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">4 large eggs, separated<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">Preheat oven to 350 degrees.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">Puree the artichoke hearts in a food processor 1 or 2 minutes until smooth<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">Melt butter in medium saucepan over medium heat.\u00a0 Add flour and whisk until smooth.\u00a0 Gradually add milk, whisking.\u00a0 Season with salt and pepper and simmer, still whisking, until the sauce thickens.\u00a0 Remove from heat, add the cheese and whisk until melted.\u00a0 Transfer the b\u00e9chamel sauce to a bowl and cool for 10 minutes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">Grease four 7-oz ramekins with butter and dust lightly with flour.\u00a0 Tap out the excess flour.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">Whisk egg yolks one by one into the b\u00e9chamel sauce, then add the artichoke puree, mixing until smooth.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">Whisk or beat the egg whites in a large bowl until foamy.\u00a0 Add a pinch of salt and continue beating until stiff.\u00a0 Fold gently into the artichoke mixture.\u00a0 Fill the ramekins to \u00bd inch from the top and bake until risen and golden, 25-30 minutes.<\/p>\n<p
