Happy Labor Day!!<\/p>\n<p>This was an inspiring article in the <a title=\"Washington Post\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/lifestyle\/home\/design-gone-digital-with-new-mobile-apps\/2013\/08\/01\/d2284b58-fad2-11e2-a369-d1954abcb7e3_story.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Washington Post<\/em><\/a>, reviewing the latest design apps that help you get the most out of designing and decorating for your home. We agree! They also have a Kid&#8217;s Rooms app, which I did not know about but my kids are all grown, so not in that frame of mind at present. Surprisingly, the article did not mention <a title=\"Previous post on Houzz's Renovation Design Tool\" href=\"https:\/\/www.casartcoverings.com\/casartblog\/a-very-useful-guide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Houzz&#8217;s new Renovation Design Tool<\/a> that I wrote about in a previous post. It helps give renovation rates based on location as well as professionals to help. (Free iOS and Android)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Floorplans:<\/strong>\u00a0 Home3D for creating them\u00a0 ($3.99 for iOS)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Keeping Track of Measurements:\u00a0<\/strong> <a title=\"My Measures &amp; Dimensions app\" href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/my-measures-dimensions-best\/id325962257?mt=8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">My Measures &amp; Dimensions app<\/a>. This would be useful for having those measurements on hand when you need them for comparison shopping for washing machines, for instance. This is what I&#8217;m looking for now. We have such an old house that I will\u00a0 to the dimensions before purchasing to see if the appliance can not only fit in our space, but through our doorway.\u00a0 ($2.99 &#8211; $5.99 Pro and syncing versions for iOS and Android)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Try it before you buy it:<\/strong>\u00a0 Furnish app lets you browse through current Crate &amp; Barrel and Pottery Barn furniture offerings and then overlay them over photos that you&#8217;ve taken of your room. The <a title=\"Home Depot app\" href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/the-home-depot\/id342527639?mt=8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Home Depot mobile app<\/a> is supposedly very similar. (Free for iOS and Android)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Color:<\/strong> Color Capture from Benjamin Moore allows you to find a BM color to match items in your home photo. (Free for iOS and Android). We&#8217;ve mentioned <a title=\"Previous post on Design Apps\" href=\"https:\/\/www.casartcoverings.com\/casartblog\/?s=apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">these previously<\/a> as well.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DIY help<\/strong>: HandyManDIY app is the one stop source for storing measurements, shopping lists, tutorials and helps with estimating how much a project might cost. ($1.99 for iOS)<\/p>\n<p>So&#8230;while you&#8217;re still sitting on the beach, you can now let your fingers do the designing and without even getting up from that beach chair.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8212;
