This was a great post in Houzz recently about “10 Popular Home Trends: Timely or Timeless?<\/em>” by Samantha Schloech. It’s received over 280 comments and still going. A touchy or tender subject about what style choices and designs withstand the test of time? You decide<\/a>. We’d love to know your thoughts. Weigh in here with your comments. We haven’t done too many contests, but who knows, if we get a lot we may “give up some gold,” so to speak.     This is a big topic, by the way. It was also featured in ASID’s weekly Eye on Design<\/em><\/a>. Trends, whether you like them or not, are on your mind because you see them around you. They can affect your buying choices and you may feel swayed by marketing promotions. Here’s our general take on trends:<\/p>\n

    The trends tend to be what everyone has now but if you buy what you like rather than the trend, chances are it will either be a trend or come back in style someday. We create what we like and started with timeless “textured” backdrops like faux linen that complements most all furnishings. Then we decided to add pattern and pops of color using stripes, etc. I think the permanency of traditional wallpaper may eventually go out of style with today’s convenience of repositionable wallcovering. It allows anyone to use without fear of resale factor and renters can take wherever they go. On top of which, our products are 100% made in the USA and can be reused, repurposed and depending on locale even recycled. They can also be timeless. I think with creativity, you can make most anything old look new again by simply pairing it with something current that gives a fresh new perspective and presentation. Oh, and butterflies, what can I say? They are always in for us b\/c they represent this idea just described — eternal transformation is constant.<\/strong><\/div>\n
