Will Casart coverings damage my walls?
Casart coverings use a water-based, pressure sensitive, self-adhesive (PSA), similar to what you find on Post It® notes, but more aggressive to ensure strength, durability, and reuse. The PSA will not leave a residue upon removal. However, proper wall preparation is essential. We recommend eggshell, satin or higher sheen (gloss or semigloss) to ensure loose or degraded paint or substrate is not lifted off by the PSA. If the wall has been freshly painted, allow at least one week for it to "cure" prior to installation.

Is there a maximum or minimum size affecting cost?
Some sizes are stock and if different, may require custom ordering. There is no minimum order size but when placing a small square footage order, we reserve the option to hold orders until total of square feet can be achieved due to the manual labor to print and process each order. Prices are variable and are subject to change due to fluctuation in production cost.

Casart is printed on what type of material?
Our material is printed on 20 oz and 18ml (with backing sheet), Type II, Class A, Poly-cotton, smooth, canvas-like, vinyl material with a repositionable, self-adhesive backing that allows for quick and easy installation, removal, storage, and reuse.

What surfaces are suitable for installation?
Suitable surfaces are pre-painted, interior walls, cabinets or doors with an eggshell or higher finish (preferably in latex). Note this product has been tested on flat finished surfaces, as well as ceilings, with no known damage. The product is best suited for long term use in low humidity conditions and should not be applied over any visible mold or mildew.
The adhesion is guaranteed up to one year, provided proper methods are taken to prep the wall surface before installation. Product may also be adhered to glass and other smooth surfaces. If newly painted, wait a week before installing. The walls should be clean, dry and free of dust. Do not use cleansers as they may affect adhesion.

Is my Casart scratch resistant?
No, but the eco-solvent inks are durable and made to last. However if extra protection is desired, especially for "high trafficked" areas, a clear protective laminate in matte or gloss sheen can be purchased from the Products located on our Wall finishes page in the drop down choices for size and price.

Can it be cleaned?
It may be cleaned with mild damp cloth using soap and water. For extra protection, a liquid laminate topcoat (see Wall Finishes page) may be applied with a paint roller once installed. The laminate is clear and water-based, does not yellow or crack, and has a non-drip consistency.

How long will my Casart adhere to the surface?
Although your Casart™ is likely to adhere to a surface as long as you want, the adhesion is guaranteed for one year, providing proper measures are taken to prep the surface before installation. FYI: we've had Casart installed in our own homes for over 2 years and these have been removed and reused multiple times with no problem.

Will the surface be damaged when I remove my Casart™?
No, providing the surface was properly prepared before installation. Try this test, if your walls can withstand the packaging or duct tape test then they are OK but the PSA will uplift any areas where paint is unstable -- peeling or bubbling and not properly prepped + the finish should be eggshell for short term or higher, semigloss, for long term use.

How do I store my Casart for reuse?
Save the peel-away backing in order to store your Casart. Once removed and repositioned on corresponding backing sheet, you can roll the Casart and store in the original packing tube.

Will a residue be left on the surface after removal?
There will be no residue left behind on the surface.

Is this a "do-it-yourself project?
Yes, but with 54" wide or larger Casart, it will be helpful to have another person to assist in positioning, although you can reposition until satisfactory position is achieved.

How do I measure to determine the amount I need to order?
You will need to find the square footage of your wall space. Measure the height of your wall. Measure the length of the wall to be covered. Multiply these two numbers to get the square feet (sf) of your wall. Each Casart has the square foot measurement listed to determine which size bests fits your needs. Please refer to our specs pdf for additional measuring details.

How do I measure if my Casart has a pattern?
If the finish you are choosing contains a pattern, then add the repeat measurement height to the total maximum height and the repeat pattern width to the total maximum width figure, for extra flexibility in the positioning while installing. Calculate the square footage of each wall based on this total maximum height multiplied by the maximum width measurements in feet. Continue to figure out each wall space square footage by this method and add each one together. This is the total square footage needed. Please refer to our specs pdf on our About page for additional pattern repeat information. We have included an extra 6 inches of Casart per roll to accommodate walls that are not square.
